![]() i figured the problem might be that since that thread, the game had been updated to only be playable on high sierra, so i updated my computer, and that didn't help. i found an old thread from 2017 saying that the high sierra update makes the game unplayable, but i was playing on sierra. i haven't been able to find any information about this problem online. i read through the system requirements, my computer meets all of the requirements (i have 2.7 GHz Intel Core i5 processor, 8GB memory, intel iris graphics 6100). i have the graphics settings as low as possible, i've switched to only playing on strategy mode, the only mod ive ever had is the aztec package, i've uninstalled and reinstalled, restarted the computer, and nothing has worked. before this week, everything was completely fine and i had played around 450 hours with no problems. the graphics and sounds seem to go into slow motion and i can't even move the mouse very fast. This issue has been logged with Apple and we are working on a fix now. You should be able to launch the game if you disable one or both of them. However, recently I upgraded to OS X High Sierra and now Civ5 crashes every time directly after loading a game or starting a new one. Civ5 with all its expansions is a very good and enjoyable game. Every time a new version brings new gameplay. Every time i launch my game, i can only play for a few turns before everything starts freezing up. Here is what Aspyr support told me (running on release High Sierra): The problem appears when both Brave New World and Gods and Kings Expansions are enabled. Good game until High Sierra I very much enjoyed played this game since the early days of Civilization.
